The Statins Scam
Statins, the best-selling drug in the history of medicine, are part of a scheme built on false premises. The misconception that animal fats and cholesterol lead to heart disease originated in the 1950s with flawed studies. Despite the originator admitting the error before his death, the narrative suited the food and drug industries. By demonizing animal fats, these industries promoted alternative products with higher profit margins like plant-based proteins and hydrogenated vegetable oils. The push to lower cholesterol levels led to the immense popularity of statins. However, studies reveal only marginal benefits in reducing cardiovascular events, while severe side effects like muscle weakness, fatigue, neurological conditions, autoimmune diseases, and heart failure are common. The harm caused by statins on the body's essential cell regeneration pathway, known as the melovinate pathway, can be so severe that stopping the medication can result in a rapid improvement in the patient's condition. Despite this, many physicians remain unaware of these issues, leading to a significant percentage of the elderly population in the US being on statins, raising concerns about the role of statins in the dementia seen in older individuals.
