Different Forms of EPA-DHA Supplements and Absorption

When buying EPA-DHA supplements, it's important to consider the form in which they come. They can either be triglyceride phospholipid form found in fatty fish, or ethyl ester form. The best way to absorb these fatty acids is by taking the supplements with a meal. There is evidence suggesting that triglycerides and phospholipids are better absorbed than ethyl esters. However, for healthy individuals taking supplements with a meal, the form doesn't make a significant difference.
