To network with the wealthiest individuals, one can either build a valuable platform that attracts them or offer a base level skill in exchange for their attention. Building a valuable platform requires having a large audience or distribution channel to offer in exchange for their message. On the other hand, offering a base level skill involves doing exceptional work upfront for potential connections without expecting anything in return. By exceeding their expectations and providing solutions even before being asked, one can create goodwill and eventually gain access to connections far above their level. The key is to offer value without expecting immediate returns, building a collection of goodwill that is more valuable than money. By consistently overdelivering and surprising connections with exceptional work without boasting about the effort put in, one can establish meaningful and lasting relationships in networking.
It’s all about stacking goodwill. Today, Alex (@AlexHormozi) answers the question “how do I get connected with people who are far ahead of me?” and shares with us the exact thing he did to gain the trust of these people and improve his networking skills.
