Metaphors in Religious Texts

Religions from thousands of years ago used metaphors to convey concepts, such as likening the world to a dream or the soul to clothing that can be discarded at death. These metaphors were meant to be comprehensible to the people of that time and were often repeated across different religious texts, like in the Bhagavad Gita and the works of Rumi.
