Resilient Fragment Replication in Distributed File Cryptography
In Distributed File Cryptography (DFC), if a fragment goes down, all fragments are required to be up for signing or cryptography. Unlike threshold signatures, DFC does not allow using a subset of fragments. However, for resiliency, the system replicates fragments to different geographic locations. Fragments are replicated to at least two other locations: one within the region (another availability zone) and another in a different region.
