Efficiency Beyond Energy

Efficiency should not only focus on maximizing energy utilization but also on optimizing exergy utilization. By extracting work from electricity before it dissipates as heat, we can enhance efficiency and minimize energy consumption. This concept is illustrated by comparing two houses with and without an elevator, where the latter's electricity usage is more efficient due to work extraction in the elevator system.
