Reliability of Death Toll Figures
To ensure accurate death toll figures, credible sources continue to publish named lists of deaths registered through the hospital system and an online Google forum. Organizations like the MOH, WHO, and Human Rights Watch trust these lists, and the UN has switched to using them in their reporting. An analysis by the Israeli Defense Forces showed that 83% of the listed 14,000 people were verified as real individuals with matching official records, including around 1,400 verified Hamas militants. Recent updates to the lists also show a relatively low margin of error.
