Assessing Complexity in Cognitive and Ego Development

A study conducted around 50 years ago involved analyzing cognitive and ego development assessments to determine their ability to measure complexity. The cognitive developmental assessment showed provisional evidence of measuring complexity, while the ego development assessment was found to be more related to the number of perspectives and vocabulary. Further research is needed to explore competing explanations and understand the concept of requisite fit between the assessment and its purpose.
