The speaker spent the first 30 years of their career focusing on output tools to produce desired output, but these tools always led to failure because their brain didn't work that way. They struggled with writing and realized that it was okay for the last thing they wrote to become the introduction and the whole thing to become the conclusion. They spent the majority of their career thinking that the first thing they wrote had to be the first thing people read, without understanding that writing is actually thinking.
This episode is a compilation of conversations from 2023. It’s not meant as a best-of collection, but an opportunity to highlight some themes that emerged during our conversations throughout the year. The episode is also an experiment, with the themes being curated partly by an AI.
