The web is effectively dead in China because it doesn't make sense on mobile devices. China is far ahead in using smartphones to manage daily life, with everything from food delivery to communication possible through a phone. In the US, it's hard to grasp because phones are used as an addition to PCs, unlike in China where they are the primary device.
