Pitbulls have become a symbol for social concerns and discrimination towards certain communities. Landlords use them as a way to exclude certain people from their apartments. In the past, owning a pitbull was used as an excuse for law enforcement to racially profile individuals. Pitbulls have become less shocking and more accepted in recent years, but the discrimination still exists in some places.
