Isn't It Time For Progress?

i think it's very presumptuous to look at something and say, all, this is progress. There is no like utopia on earth. It's kind of a religious, like a pseudo religious sop to say that some day we'll hit post scarcity society where everything will be perfect. I mean, its just, its, its, you know, the materialist answer to heaven, and it's unattainable. And i feel like, am that's kind of probably dhe main split between me and other people who are more optimistic about history?
