Can Machines Think?
Human intelligence evolved through a non-mathematical process rather than being designed through a model. The question of whether machines can think has been deemed less useful than exploring the broader notions of intelligence. Alan Turing recognized that while computers may imitate human behavior, this imitation does not equate to true thinking or understanding. The essence of intelligence may also reside outside individual minds, as evidenced by instances in scientific history where multiple people independently discover the same theorem or concept simultaneously. This suggests that there may be universal principles or connections in intelligence that transcend personal interpretation, implying a collective intelligence that individuals tap into when they contribute to ideas.
