Writer's block comes from the fantasy of writing effortlessly, but in reality, it requires hard work. Occasionally, writers experience a flow state, but most of the time, writing is challenging. Taking breaks between projects can be detrimental as it becomes harder to come back. The speaker is currently going through a difficult period and is making efforts to regain their writing rhythm. They discuss the absence of a new generation of young writers like themselves in the non-fiction world.
