The differential impact of food-induced GLP1 and drug-induced GLP1 on the body
Studies on rodents suggest that while food-induced GLP1 mostly acts in the periphery and has a short-lived effect, drug-induced GLP1 elevates GLP1 levels all day, reaching the brain and activating GLP1 receptors. This differential impact on the body implies that drug-induced GLP1 is not equivalent to food-induced GLP1 and can lead to reduced overall caloric intake.
