The TED AI Show

NOTE

Artificial General Intelligence and the Limitations of Current AI

Artificial General Intelligence aims for human-like flexibility and generality, unlike current AI which is often narrow and problem-specific. Models like GPT show generality but lack true intelligence as they heavily rely on their training data and may fail with subtly different problems. Progress in AI has been significant in mimicry but limited in planning and reasoning, critical aspects for achieving AGI. While achievements like AlphaGo demonstrate superior performance in strategic games, true AGI remains a future ambition with challenges in overcoming the limitations of current AI.
