Recognizing Individual Variation in Training Responses
While acknowledging significant individual variation in responses to training, establishing population-wide exercise guidelines remains a challenge. It would not be realistic to expect these guidelines to provide personalized prescriptions for every individual. However, a potential approach could involve an initial generalized prescription with subsequent adjustments based on specific responses measured by defined metrics. This could lead to a more tailored algorithm that enhances individual outcomes, though it might be overly ambitious for broad guidelines. Importantly, for health benefits, achieving a modest level of strength is often sufficient, as most individuals can gain the majority of strength improvements with minimal training impact.
