In 1961, there was a scare of an imminent attack when US strategic air command lost communication with NORAD and multiple missile warning systems simultaneously. It turned out to be a single relay station failure. Another dangerous day was October 27, 1962, during the Cuban missile crisis. Many significant events occurred on that day.
