Clarity vs Agreement in Protestant Reformation

The failure to heal the schism between Protestants and Catholics is more understandable than the continuing breach among Protestants. While they agree on essentials like sola fide and sola scriptura, they struggle to unite due to disagreements on other doctrines. The magisterial reformers rejected Roman Catholic doctrines, believed in sola scriptura, and agreed on doctrines of justification and priesthood of all believers. However, the commitment to scripture's sole authority did not ensure agreement on its teachings, leading to divisions within Protestantism.
