Intellectual bullying aims to provoke others into a 'win-lose' debate framework, often targeting those perceived as marginal or violators of certain moral codes. Entering the debate frame plays into the bully's hands, allowing them to walk away feeling successful. To counter this, it's crucial to avoid the debate frame by identifying triggers, assessing conversation goals, and shifting the discussion to a collaborative framework. By doing so, it nullifies the bully's opportunity to continue bullying and may even lead to a change in their perspective.
