NOTE

Predator Inspection and Screeching Behavior in Animals

In nature, when an animal is attacked by a predator, it may screech to scare or distract the predator. This behavior can lead to the predator getting distracted and the animal escaping. Sometimes, the screeching attracts larger predators, causing the smaller predator to release its grip or the larger predator to catch the smaller one, allowing the prey to escape. In some cases, screeching can also attract other animals of the same type, especially in the case of bats. This behavior is related to predator inspection, where animals gather in response to a screeching animal. This phenomenon is particularly noticeable when working with bats, as they economize on echolocation calls which are costly.
