The ability to identify and choose a response between stimulus and reaction is important. Emotions like anger and rage indicate something missing in life. In business, experiencing anger can be a prompt to analyze what's lacking, such as competence in a certain area, and to use the emotional trigger as an opportunity for targeted thinking and improvement. This approach of removing emotion and focusing on what's missing can be valuable in personal and professional contexts.
In this episode, I speak with Brian Johnson, the Founder & CEO of Heroic Public Benefit Corporation. Brian is the author of a new book called Areté: Activate Your Heroic Potential.
