A patient without pre-frontal cortex has strong emotional states which contradicts the theory that emotions are only felt when registered in pre-frontal cortex. Evidence suggests that subcortical processes are conscious in themselves, as shown by brain stimulation studies. Antonio De Masio changed his mind about this fallacy.
