The Measure for Measure Principle and God's Offer to Pharaoh

The measure for measure principle, as named by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, states that we should treat others as we want to be treated. In the biblical context, the death of the firstborn in Egypt is God applying this principle by giving Pharaoh the same treatment he gave to Israel. However, God offers Pharaoh and Egypt an opportunity to escape the death sentence, which Pharaoh never gave to Israel.
