NOTE

Less Can Be More in Sound Design

Achieving depth and fullness in sound often requires unconventional approaches, particularly in the sonic field. When compressing sound, more intensity can actually lead to less overall impact, akin to squeezing marbles into a confined space where not all can reach their potential. In music production, especially with drums and low-end frequencies, it’s crucial to strategically place elements across the sound spectrum rather than overwhelming with volume. Playing instruments at lower volumes can ultimately allow for a richer and more dynamic recording, as it prevents the sound from being limited and boxed in.
