NOTE

Diet Soda - Zero Osmeati?

Diet sodas should ideally have a zero osmolality, which can be equated with beverages like tea or coffee. Proper hydration is critical, and avoiding fructose is of utmost importance for managing uric acid levels and potential kidney issues. Reducing fructose intake could significantly alleviate health problems, yet most processed foods are laden with sugars or high fructose corn syrup, making it challenging to avoid these substances. Fructose can be synthesized by our bodies from a high salt diet or during dehydration, complicating matters further. High glycemic diets also promote the conversion of glucose into fructose through enzyme activation in the liver, leading to fat accumulation and insulin resistance, even when actual fructose is not consumed. Blocking fructose metabolism can mitigate these issues, indicating that managing glucose intake helps reduce complications related to weight gain and fatty liver disease.
