Chat GPT: An Achievement in Engineering or Science?
When conducting science, we shouldn't only rely on probable theories based on existing knowledge. Sometimes, highly improbable and counterintuitive theories provide a better understanding of the universe. The example of an apple falling to the ground is used to illustrate this point. In the past, different theories explained why apples fall, such as the earth being their natural place, an invisible force of gravity, and the curvature of space time. Language models like Chachi BT, if existing during Aristotle's time, would never predict the concept of space time curvature. To come up with new explanations, we need intelligence, not just models that predict based on existing data.
