On Your Own Side and Being a Friend to Yourself
Being on our own side means interpreting events in a positive way and being kind to ourselves. Just as we support and lead our loved ones towards positivity, we should do the same for ourselves. We have the power to make up the story of what happens to us, so why not make it up in a kind and positive way? Being a friend to ourselves is another important aspect. We intuitively understand how to treat a friend, but we often speak harshly to ourselves. Being a friend to ourselves means treating ourselves with kindness and compassion, just as we would treat a friend.
