The Importance of Cross-Country Flying in Pilot Training
The course includes 91 hours, with 50 hours in the simulator. The cross countries make up almost half of the flying time. Going on a three-day trip with students allows for growth and learning. It's a fun experience for them, as it's their first time going away as a crew. After the debrief, you can share war stories at the bar and restaurant. It gives a taste of crew life and allows for mentoring outside of rank and structure. This is important for learning how to connect with people and learn from different generations and positions.
