Data Set vs. Data Product
Distinguishing between a data set and a data product is essential in understanding the value they bring. While a data set is more like raw materials or components that require governance and management, a data product is a solution that solves a customer need and delivers value to the end consumer. The focus should be on getting data components closer to the business and ensuring that they add value to the customer. Calling a data set a product can be misleading, and there may be a need to come up with a different term to differentiate between the two concepts.
