From Local to Transcendent

Local activities like making bricks may seem nihilistic, but when those bricks contribute to building a cathedral, they become part of a transcendent purpose, such as the glorification of God. This hierarchy of aims connects the local to the transcendent, allowing the local activity to partake in something much larger and meaningful.
