Exploring the Behavior of Snakes: Aggressive vs Non-Aggressive Species
Aggression in snakes like the reticulated python and anaconda is predominantly related to predation behaviors such as consuming humans. However, nearly all other snake species, from boa constrictors to cobras to rattlesnakes, exhibit defensive behaviors to avoid interaction with humans, including hiding, warning signals, and a preference for camouflage. Snakes generally desire to be left alone and only aim to fulfill their basic needs of survival like eating and drinking water, displaying vulnerability when drinking, which is considered a heartwarming sight.
