The Game w/ Alex Hormozi

NOTE

Balancing Punishment and Reward

Knowing when to punish, reward, or extinguish behavior is crucial. While punishment can quickly change behavior, it is only effective as long as the punisher is present and the person does not become desensitized to it. To maintain consistent punishment, intensity and variety of punishment must be increased over time. On the other hand, rewarding behavior may take longer to change behavior but can lead to sustained changes. By gradually extending the gaps between rewards, eventually, the behavior becomes intrinsic, and no external reward is needed.
