Networking is a more effective strategy for finding a job than blasting out resumes. Spending 70 to 80 percent of your time reaching out and connecting with people through networking is recommended, while only spending 20 to 30 percent of your time on submitting applications. A study found that around 80 percent of jobs are found through networking or offers made through networking. Applying for a job when someone has explicitly asked you to apply or has recommended you is more powerful.
