The change of heart described in Alma chapter 5 cannot be achieved through sheer willpower, but rather through the Savior's influence and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is a result of faith in Jesus Christ enabling a rebirth, not something that can be forced or pushed through by personal effort. The transformation occurs when individuals invite the Lord into their lives, acknowledging their need for help, and allowing for a spiritual rebirth, as highlighted in verse 12, 13, and 14.
