Letting go of the attachment to things can be more impactful than the pain of holding on. People often cling to what things meant to them, leading to misery even if the physical possessions are gone. Additionally, identity clutter occurs when individuals confine themselves to societal boxes, trying to fit labels imposed by others. Physical pain fades from memory quickly once it subsides.
The Minimalists talk about life after simplifying, decluttering slowly over time, processing loss after letting go, and more.
