For most investors, the traditional annual exercise of updating allocations and selecting individual funds is no longer necessary, especially for beginners with modest portfolios. Using asset allocation ETFs eliminates the need for complex decision-making and maintenance. DIY investors often struggle with portfolio rebalancing and maintenance over time, but all-in-one solutions have simplified this process. Although not optimal, these solutions are generally good enough for most people, removing barriers to DIY portfolio construction. Simplicity is crucial for a successful investment outcome, a lesson learned over time.
