Blaming people for their own suffering is a pernicious ideology. The significance of this ideology lies in its position in a two by two grid. The top left corner represents when you're thinking about something and it happens. However, there are three other possibilities: when you're thinking about something and it doesn't happen, when something happens when you're not thinking about it, and when you're not thinking about something and it doesn't happen. The bottom right box, not thinking about something and it doesn't happen, represents most moments in life.
