Isolating Languages
We have hugely complicated syllables, not perhaps not as complicated as some languages, but they're pretty complex. According to this paper, it was reduced over time under whatever pressure it is about isolating languages that push things this way. And in some sense, it makes sense that when you have elements getting squished together that you're going to get larger syllable structures. Yeah. It may be, it make sense. But yeah, it's sort of even if English was simplified, I think sort of the more ideal isolating languages definitely have similar- at least as far as I can tell.
