The Genesis of Lamech: When Evil Becomes a Lineage

The story traces the lineage of Brent Kane all the way back to the seventh generation with a man named Lamech. Lamech seeks extreme revenge for injuries inflicted on him and claims that if his ancestor Cain was avenged seven times, he should be avenged 70 times seven. Jesus references this story when telling Peter to forgive endlessly, just as Lamech sought endless revenge. Peter understands the message and realizes forgiveness must have no limits.
