The traditional way of telling students classroom expectations doesn't work well. Research suggests that humans are bad at perspective taking and need to seek perspectives. Co-creating expectations with students allows seeking perspectives from multiple stakeholders, acknowledging different needs, and investing students in upholding the expectations for themselves and each other.
