NOTE

The Distinction Between Morality and Ethics: Beyond the Reach of Physics

Morality and ethics, our sense of right and wrong, are fundamentally different from the laws of physics. Just like there's no reference frame for a squirrel's understanding of morality, aliens from outer space would view us the same way we view squirrels in the forest. They may be curious about us initially, but they would eventually get bored because we have nothing to offer them. While our ethics are important in maintaining civilization, they are not governed by the laws of physics. So if aliens were to make contact, their sense of right and wrong would likely be vastly different from ours.
