Luxury has faced moral condemnation throughout history, from ancient Greece to modern political discourse, yet it remains a significant and expanding sector globally. The concept of luxury is more deeply rooted in European and Asian cultures, while it is relatively recent in the United States. Numerous definitions of luxury exist, with Bernard Arnault's perspective encapsulating the essence: luxury represents the ordinary of extraordinary people and the extraordinary of ordinary people, highlighting its intrinsic connection to both exclusivity and accessibility.

On today’s episode, Clay is joined by Shree Viswanathan for a stock deep dive on Hermès. Hermès is a luxury goods manufacturer renowned for its high-quality craftsmanship. The brand is known for its iconic products, such as the Birkin and Kelly bags, silk scarves, and equestrian-inspired items.
