NOTE

The Role of Developmental Stages in Neurological Training

Developmental stages and environment play a significant role in shaping our neurological development and skills. In applied neurology, it is recognized that everything is a skill that can be trained, whether innate or learned. During childhood and adolescence, the nervous system is trained to survive and navigate the social world, refining skills such as social connection, self-regulation, behavior, and stress response. Neglect or abuse during these developmental stages can shift an individual's trajectory, impacting their adult life. This shift can cause them to arrive in adulthood at a very different place from where they were initially headed, leading to confusion and questioning about their current circumstances.
