Children are not projects
The essence of having children, including those with Down syndrome, is to share life with them and not to consider them as projects. Each child, like Graham who is proud of his school work, should be valued for who they are and not for their economic productivity as adults in the future. The focus should be on cultivating relationships and fostering engagement in various aspects of life, rather than rushing through milestones to fit societal norms of productivity and contribution as taxpayers and workers.
