NOTE

Proper Blood Sampling Techniques

When sampling blood, avoid calloused areas on fingers by going slightly to the side for an easier flow. Prior to sampling from fingertips, immerse hand in hot water to arterialize the sample, allowing for a free-flowing capillary blood sample without requiring finger squeezing. Failing to arterialize may result in difficulty extracting blood and lead to a shaky baseline, making it challenging to detect sudden increases in blood flow.
