Creating a dehumanized state enables leaders to exploit legal systems, allowing them to wield unlimited power during crises. The concept of constitutional democracies having checks and balances is criticized as being insufficient in preventing abuse of power. In reality, during emergencies, leaders often assume extra-constitutional powers through declarations of a state of emergency. As a result, constitutional safeguards like human rights and executive orders become ineffective, leading to a perpetual state where exceptional measures become the norm.
