Data centers face significant challenges in accommodating the growth of AI applications, mainly due to the inadequate power supply and networking technology. The concentration of power required to meet the demands of AI applications exceeds the capacity of most data centers. Additionally, networking technology like Infiniband is crucial for efficient GPU communication in AI but is not readily available in all chip architectures. Companies with advanced networking capabilities like Google and Meta have an advantage in this aspect. As a result, the industry is currently bottlenecked by the availability of GPUs, with networking and power supply posing as the next significant hurdles to overcome.
