Unification of Japan under Tokugawa Shogunate
In the late 1500s, Japan faced significant wars culminating in the famous battle of Sekigahara in the early 1600s with around 170,000 people involved. Often referred to as Bakufu, this government was led by a military dictator called a shogun, establishing a hereditary rule that dominated Japan's history with a series of shoguns.
