The Evolution from Special to General Relativity

Einstein's special relativity in 1905 removed the concept of an ether, introducing the speed of light as a maximum and unifying physics equations. In 1907, Minkowski proposed blending space and time into spacetime, initially dismissed by Einstein. However, he later acknowledged spacetime's properties and geometry. This paved the way for him to solve the gravity problem by treating it as the curvature of spacetime, leading to the development of general relativity.
